So Emily told us that one of her favorite parts of San Francisco was riding the cable car. We tried to ride it yesterday but the line was forever long and we had to be somewhere, so we didn't wait. This afternoon when we got downtown we thought we'd try to ride it again. And again the line was forever long, so we decided to start walking to Fisherman's Wharf. It wasn't really walking as much as it was hiking. Wow they have some steep hills here. We walked and walked and enjoyed ourselves, following along the cable car tracks. We figured we might as well see the same thing we would see if we were riding the cable car. Well, after about 30 minutes of walking the cable car that hadn't left the station when we had left walking came up the hill and there was room for us to hop on! We were so thankful that we didn't have to walk the rest of the way to the Wharf. Although...once we got close to Lombard street, the cable car driver was talking to the other attendant on the car and decided that the brakes were broken. They made everyone get of right at the windiest road! We were just glad that we didn't head down the hill with no brakes.
